Scribing Tool (2020) - Brass tipped deer antler and quartz scribing tool - Carved with Scythian inspired horse and deer motifs. This was my first carving.
This is one of my favourite tools to use. Its natural curve fits beautifully in my hand. You can see a video in my @wabisabimami IG account.
Kalaw (2020) - Walnut stained deer antler carved into a hornbill.
Close up of Kalaw - Kalaw is the Filipinx word for hornbill. It serves as a messenger between the spiritual realm and our earthly plane. The amethyst mala (bought pre-made) adds protection, cleansing. It promotes clarity and serenity.
Malakas (2021) - Fern carved deer antler with moldavite tip, tiger's eye beads. The antler was sourced from an Indigenous friend, Wes Havill, who is also a talented carver and knifemaker.
Malakas = Strong in Tagalog.. This carving encourages us to embrace our strengths and to connect with the ancestral wisdom contained within our bones and marrow.
